All clients are asked to inform us of any known medical problems, allergies etc before your pet’s appointment. Please advise us of any changes so we can keep this information updated.
We take the utmost care throughout grooming to ensure the health, safety & wellbeing
of your dog. MHDG is not liable for any pre-existing conditions. If anything untoward is
discovered we will notify you. It will then be up to the owner to consult a vet if necessary.
You must inform us if your dog has ever bitten or has aggressive tendencies. Both towards groomers or other dogs. A muzzle may be used where necessary. If your pet shows unmanageable aggression, we reserve the right not to continue with the grooming session.
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin & health problems including hot spots, bacterial infections, fungal infections etc. Matted fur also pulls & binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay on mats. The skin underneath is usually raw & inflamed. Matted coats will not dry properly & can lead to rotting fur & skin.
Services such as “Bath” & “Bath & Hygiene clip” are not available for matted dogs.
Matted/impacted coats will be clipped for the sake & comfort of the dog.
The client agrees that MHDG will not be held liable for any after grooming effects
or problems uncovered on a severely matted or neglected coat.
The client agrees to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog, including mat removal which is an extra cost.
Your dog may be photographed before, during & after its groom. These images may be
used on MHDG’S website & social media pages unless you specifically request us not to do so.
Whilst I understand that sometimes appointments have to be cancelled due to an emergency, we ask that you give at least 48 hours notice where possible. As a small business, short notice cancellations and no shows to appointments have a negative financial. On the occasion that you cancel without 24hrs notice, a fee of %50 of the original appointment will be charged or added to your next appointment fee.
It is considered a "no-show" when the client does not attend their appointment at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer within 12 hours of their appointment time to cancel or reschedule before hand. MHDG reserves the right to charge the FULL grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations.
Arriving 15 minutes or more late for appointments will require re-scheduling & a missed appointment fee will apply.
As some grooming sessions take longer than others, an accurate time isn’t always able to be given. A text message will be sent to you 20 minutes before your dog is ready to let you know what time they will need to be picked up. As we are a home salon, we are unable to hold dogs for an extended period of time. Dogs that are left in our care for more than 15 minutes after their appointment, will incur a charge of $15 per 15 minutes.
It is up to the owner to make sure that their dog is free of fleas before their appointment. If your pet is found to have any fleas, they will be given a flea bath at your expense of $20 in addition to the base cost of the bath or groom. If you do not want them to receive one, you can reschedule your appointment after the fleas are resolved by you.
Full payment is required at the end of the grooming session. Prepayment is not accepted as prices depend on weight, coat condition & time taken to achieve groom.
MHDG accepts payment via eftpos & cash only. Payments via eftpos include a 1.9% fee which will be added to the final grooming cost.
